The Currituck County Game Commission was formed in October 1921.
The Session Laws of 1957, Chapter 1436, re-established the commission as it exist today.
The Commission is responsible for licensing of all bush, point and float blinds in the public waters of Currituck County along with the power and authority to prescribe rules and regulations for the protection of waterfowl .
The commission also establishes sanctuaries and rest areas in which no waterfowl may be shot, hunted or disturbed.
